About FriendKinLine
A Mental Health Project
FriendKinLine (FKL) is an anonymous emotional‑support app, currently patent‑pending and raising funds to bring this idea to life. FKL connects people—from kids to kids and adults to adults—who want to be heard and to help others when support is needed most. FKL blends the founder’s personal experiences with educational research. Inspired by Frankenstein—where the main character craves safe companionship—FKL is being built to create that same sense of connection in a healthy, real-world way. 🌟What Makes FKL Special Anonymous conversations with limits: Users decide how many messages they can send each day—no burnout, just mindful, meaningful support. Mood tracking & journaling: Helps users spot emotional patterns and build resilience. Studies show journaling can lower anxiety and depression scores by about 5–9%. Impact map: A visual display of where around the world your supportive messages have made a difference—and yes, it feels amazing! Why it works: Research shows anonymous peer support reduces anxiety and encourages honesty; moderation keeps things safe and trusted . 🚀 Where FKL Is Heading Patent‑pending concept ➡️ building the app: Currently raising funds to develop secure, moderated versions for iOS and Android. Pilot programs: Launching separate streams—kids talking to kids, adults talking to adults—to fine-tune the experience. Scaling up: Adding expert moderation, guided chat options, and partnering with schools or mental‑health organizations. 🤝 How You Can Get Involved Follow along: Sign up on social media or our website for updates. About Me

I’m a creative mind and analytic thinker who’s spent a decade as a loved educator—teaching general classroom, math specialist, and art classes. Guiding students from kindergarten through middle school, I discovered a universal need: kids just want someone to listen. As a mother, I found the same truth holds true. Sometimes we just need that empathetic ear. Listening truly is free—and powerful. Research shows that active listening activates the brain’s reward system, boosting emotional well-being and strengthening connections . And when we offer kindness, even to strangers, it sets off a ripple effect—like dominos—spreading positivity through communities. My journey took me from education and psychology coursework to pursuing an M.S. in User Experience, because I wanted to blend empathy and creativity into digital spaces. My proudest roles include: Math specialist & art teacher—where I implemented data-driven and creative interventions, led schoolwide events, and won grants for tech initiatives. School psychology assistant—coordinating special education across campuses, creating manuals, and fostering collaboration. At my core, I love my “kin”—my family—and my close circle of lifelong friends. Their presence reinforced the importance of connection through life’s emotional highs and devastating losses. Missing loved ones and navigating personal grief opened my eyes to the real need for non-judgmental listening—especially during times of high stress and emotional pain. This deep belief in compassionate connection sparked FriendKinLine (FKL)—the app designed to offer anonymous, mindful listening. By enabling users to share, track emotions, and anonymously support others, FKL creates a domino effect of kindness that can heal and uplift—one heartfelt message at a time.
Educational Journey

M.S. User Experience
Arizona State University
At ASU, I pivoted to a Master of Science in User Experience, aligning my passion for creativity with my background in psychology. This program honed my skills in user research, design thinking, and human-centered design. I engaged in projects that involved creating intuitive interfaces and conducting usability testing, preparing me to design products that are both functional and delightful for users.
2021-2022
Ed. S. School Psychology
(unenrolled)
University of Arizona
Initially, I pursued an Ed.S. in School Psychology at the University of Arizona, aiming to support students' mental health in educational settings. Through coursework such as "Cognitive Assessment" and "Research Methods" I developed a deep understanding of psychological assessment and intervention strategies. This experience sharpened my analytical skills and reinforced my commitment to supporting individuals' well-being, which I now apply to understanding user needs in UX design.
2010-2014
B.A. Education
University of Arizona
At the University of Arizona, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, focusing on developing effective teaching strategies and understanding diverse learning needs. This program emphasized classroom management, curriculum development, and the importance of building strong relationships with students and families. My coursework and experiences laid a solid foundation for my subsequent roles in education, where I applied these principles to foster inclusive and engaging learning environments.
